Before you do anything, you have to come up with the basic idea of your Man cave? Before we make our final blue print we have to find out what popular themes are out there! Most popular themes are usually sports related( football, baseball, ect) themes and open bar themes and strip club themes. All tho i do come a cross a lots of musician themes and celebrity tribute themes like Elvis and Michael Jackson theme but above all being creative with your man cave is the key.
Other day friend of mine asked me to help him with the theme. He likes video games and particularly he likes Halo. So i told him lets draw the blue print out for gamer’s POV theme. First thing to do is measured out your space. Either its in the basement or the garage, man caves should be anywhere from size of your bath room to big as your living room . although i seen people build small as tool shed to big as 3000 square foot house, building man caves doesn’t require a big space.(but bigger is better in TEXAS);)
After you measured the size of your lot lets make some shopping list. Now Most people usually know what to get when they know what to buy so we need to create a list for Gamer’s POV. But before we make our shopping list we first have to estimate the cost of the entire project. He wanted to turn his 2 car garage in to a everyday game room for him and his friends so first thing is first getting the estimated budgets.
Here is the budget that i created for him
Decorating theme(dark green with black for camo effect)
Plywood and Lumbers for the project $300
Paint and Drywall, Carpet materials $600
Cut out card board for making Camo shape Free
Power Tool rental at Local hardware store $100
Duct tapes and small misc stuff $50
50 inch Plasma $700
5 pt Yamaha Surround sound with receiver $400Grand total $2150
Now this is not actual final price. The top number can change either up and down by market price for the lumber and how creative are we going to be on this project. My goal is to do this project under 1600 dollar and make create something remarkable. Now i am not a carpenter or contractor. but i do have couple years of experience making peoples man cave and mine and best way to find product is always shop around.

Few years ago i built my 1st man cave with budget of $2000. The reason i was able to save so much money was i was able to build everything on my own! Now i am not a Carpenter or Licensed contractor.I’m a basically a guy who is motivated and had spare time to research useful ideas on the web and built my own dream man cave. Now i know what your thinking??? Your trying to sell me some stuff Dave? is that it?? Answer to that would be no and yes! No because i don’t have any product to sell and yes cause with my info your gonna go Homedepot and purchase those woods so YES i’m selling the wood for those damn rich bastards who makes millions of dollars year on sale. lol. (its my blog spot i say what i want)
So ya don’t worry about you buying anything from here because knowledge i’m giving you is free!
